Koh Wonseok is the chief curator and the head of exhibition division of Seoul Museum of Art.

 

He used to be the chief curator of Busan Museum of Art, team manager of Asia Culture Center, curator of Arko Art Center), curator of Gallery SPACE and alternative space Pool, etc.

 

He was also a researcher of SOAS University of London, U.K. in 2016, professor of Seoul Digital University and lecturer of Korea University of Arts and many other universities.

 

He curated numerous exhibitions such as ‘Mass and Individual’(2016, Arko Art Center, Seoul, Korea), ‘Thematic exhibitions of Library Part’(2015, Asia Culture Center, Gwangju, Korea), ‘Landscape of Mind’ and ‘Conrad Showcross: Geometry of Mind’(2014, Artmia Foundation, Beijing, China), ‘Jingyeong: The Real Landscape’(2012, National Museum of Poland, Krakow, Poland), ‘Space Print International Biennale’(2009, Seoul Museum of Art, Seoul, Korea), ‘Yunhee Toh: Hidden Beauty’(2007, Gallery Beyeler, Basel, Switzerland), ‘Simply Beautiful: The Breath of Nature in Korean Contemporary Art’(2006, Center Pasquart, Biel, Switzerland and Le Grand Jardin, Joinville, France) ‘Extensions’(2004, Zone Chelsea Center for the Arts, New York, U.S.A.), etc.

 

He also curated many public projects such as ‘CGV Video Art Festival’(2006, All CGV Theaters in Korea), ‘Fluid Artcanal 2006’(2006, Le Landron, Switzerland and Daejeon, Korea).

 

He was awarded the ‘Minister’s Award of Korea’(2015), ‘Dong-A Curatorial Award’(2009) and was invited by numerous international programs such as ‘Focus Visiting Program’(2012, Institut France), Curatorial Residency Program(2011, HIAP, Helsinki, Finland), Visiting Program (2011, NRW Kultur Sekretariat, Germany). He also was a jury member of numerous screenings of Arts Council Korea, Seoul Culture and Arts Foundation, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Apex International Open Call(New York, U.S.A.), Joong Ang Arts Award, etc.

 

Currently he works and lives in Seoul, Korea.
