Born in 1982 in Dalian, China, Lu Zhengyuan graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is now a faculty member at CAFA in Beijing.

"He has always confronted edified creative styles and methods, to experiment artistic practices using various media. His works cover sculpture, painting, installation, video and other art forms. He often pays attention to the everyday reality, to things that are marginal or not easy to define, seeking artistic expression between daily experience and unspeakable perception."

Past major exhibitions include over 100 exhibits by the Shanghai Biennale, the Shenzhen International Sculpture Biennale, Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (UCCA), National Art Museum of China, CAFA Art Museum, Long Museum Shanghai, Today Art Museum, Beijing Times Art Museum, Taikang Space, the Taipei Contemporary Art Museum in Taiwan, White Rabbit Art Gallery in Australia, Lisbon Museum of Art in Portugal, and the Contemporary Arts Center in Bonn, Germany.

 

Solo exhibitions have been held at the Taipei Contemporary Art Museum, Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (UCCA), Beijing White Box Gallery, Taikang Space, Hive Center for Contemporary Art, Phoenix Art, Klein Sun Gallery in New York, Lotus Art Museum in Macau, Chini Galley in Taipei, Contemporary Museum of Panama, Contemporary Art Museum of Costa Rica, Marella Gallery of Italy, and Eslite Gallery in Taiwan, among others.
